Toby Keith Covel is an award-winning American country singer but as well as a songwriter, actor, and record producer. Toby Keith Covel was born on the 8th of July 1961 to Carolyn Joan and Hubert K. Covel, Jr. in Clinton, Oklahoma. Toby has a Brother and a Sister. At a younger age, Keith became interested in music because of the musicians who came and play in his grandmother owned Billie Garner’s Supper Club. Toby got his first guitar when he was eight years of age. Toby attended Highland West Junior High and Moore High School. He played football at high school.

Toby graduated from high school and start to work as a derrick hand in the oil fields. When Toby was 20, formed a band called “Easy Money” with few other friends. They played at local bars. Toby continued to work in oil fields. Toby lost his job and became unemployed after the Oklahoma Oil industry began a rapid decline in 1982. Toby looked back on his football career to continue and played defensive end with Oklahoma City Drillers. later Keith more focused on music and continued to play with the Easy Money band. In 1984 Easy Money got a chance to perform in honky-tonk circuit in Oklahoma and Texas.
In 1990, Toby Keith moved to Nashville, Tennessee. and perform in the street on Music Row and Houndogs in downtown Nashville. At the time Keith distributed many demo tape copies to the record companies in the city. Toby was depressed and returned home due to zero response from the record companies. Toby Keith had promised both God and himself he will give up music as a career if he will not get a record contract before age 30. Toby Keith was lucky enough, cause Mercury Records Executive Harold Shedd got Toby’s demo tape by a flight attendant and fan of Toby’s. while Shedd travelling on a flight. Harold enjoyed listening to what he heard and went to see his live performance before signed him to a record contract with Mercury.

Moreover, Keith released his first four studio albums, “Toby Keith”(1993), “Boomtown”(1994), “Blue Moon”(1996) and Dream Walkin'(1997), all albums got higher certification. Toby’s debut single “Should’ve Been a Cowboy” reached the top of the country charts and the single gained three million spins since it was released( according to BMI.). This superstar is one of the most memorable personalities in country music.
In 1998, Toby Keith signed to Dreamwork Records label, In late 1999 he released the single “How Do You Like Me Now?!”. The single included in Toby’s fifth album “How Do You Like Me Now?!”, The album titled by the popular Track. Single “How Do You Like Me Now?!” was the #1 Country Song in 2000. Toby released his next three albums(Pull My Chain, Unleashed, and Shock’n Y’all) with DreamWorks Records Nashville and all of them were certified 4x Platinum. And also included three more #1 singles each. After the Greatest Hits Volume One in 1998(Mercury Records), In 2004 Toby Keith released Greatest Hits 2 album in November 2004 with DreamWorks Records Nashville. Toby Keith’s Ninth album was “Honkytonk University”, Which released in 2005.
Toby Keith formed his own record label Show Dog Nashville in 2005 after DreamWorks Nashville closed. In 2009 December Toby’s Show dog Nashville merged with Universal south records and it became Show Dog-Universal Music. Toby Keith released about 10 albums via Show Dog/Show Dog-Universal [White Trash with Money(2006), Big Dog Daddy(2007), That Don’t Make Me a Bad Guy(2008), American Ride(2009), Bullets in the Gun(2010), Clancy’s Tavern(2011), Hope on the Rocks(2012), Drinks After Work(2013), 35 MPH Town(2015), The Bus Songs(2017), and also in 2008, Toby’s compilation 35 Biggest Hits.
In 2006, Country singing star Toby Keith made his acting debut in the movie “Broken Bridges”. and also in 2008 starred along with Rodney Carrington movie “Beer for My Horses”.
So far, Country star Toby Keith released Studio albums-19, Christmas albums-2 and compilation albums-5. which had total sales of 40 million albums around the world. 61 singles of Toby Keith reached Billboard and Hot Country Songs charts. Those singles include #1 Hits-20 and Top Ten Hits-21. In 2003 released Willie Nelson featured “Beer for My Horses” and In 2005 released “As Good as I Once Was” hits are #1 for six weeks each in charts. In 2021,13th January Keith Toby awarded the National Medal of Arts by United States of America President Donald Trump.

The Song was written by Toby Keith. It was released in 2002 and the song is from the album “Unleashed”. Keith was written the song in late 2001 after his father’s death in March of the same year. His father H.K Covel was killed in a car accident. even the 9/11 attack (September 11, 2001 attacks) was inspired Toby to write the song “Courtesy of the Red, White, & Blue”. The song “Courtesy of the Red, White, & Blue (The Angry American)” about patriotism and faith in the United States of Toby Keith’s father. The hit peaked Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart and reached # 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Initially, Toby refused to record the song and only perform live at his concerts. But James L. Jones, Commandant of the Marine Corps changed his mind and told Keith that he has to record the song and lift the morale of the troops. The hit peaked at # 1 on the country charts over the 4th of July weekend.

“American Soldier”
The Song is from the album “Shock’n Y’all”. released in November 2003. The song was written by Toby Keith along with Chuck Cannon. “American Soldier” became a #1 hit on the Billboard U.S. Hot Country Songs chart, peaked for four weeks. The Song lyrics are about a soldier headed to war to serve his country after saying goodbye to his family.

“How Do You Like Me Now!?,”
The Song is another song written by a combination of writers, both Toby and Chuck, which was peaked #1 for five weeks on the country charts. The song was released in 1999 and the hit was the biggest selling country song in 2000. The song lyrics are about Toby’s attraction to the female with the highest academic standing of his high school. That time she ignored him. and now Keith wonders if she can remember him, who is famous now.
“I Love This Bar”
The Song was written by Scotty Emerick with Toby Keith. Song was released in August 2003. and the song is from the album “Shock’n Y’all”. Song was peaked for five weeks on the charts. This is the song that inspired him to name his chain of restaurants Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill. #1 on US Hot Country Songs (Billboard) and #26 on US Billboard Hot 100.
